This story shall the good man teach his son
From this day to the ending of the world
...we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother

(Henry V 4.3.40-70)

A TRIBUTE TO OUR WARRIORS

The You Tube video below is a tribute to our brave warriors in the Global War on Terrorism, with Shakespeare's Henry V, St. Crispin Day Speech--the finest speech in literature--as narration.   This is a very powerful video, and please be aware that some images may be disturbing.  Video:  6 minutes, 23 seconds.

..........and from this war, over 8,000 Marines have been wounded.  We honor their dedication to their country, and our Association owes it to them to provide whatever service we can to make their lives easier because..........

THIS BAND OF BROTHERS LEAVES NO MARINE BEHIND

A manifestation of the Marine Corps "Band of brothers, leave no man behind" ethic is the new Wounded Warriors Center. Wounded Warriors--Marines hurt in the heat of battle--now have a place at which to come home at Camp Pendleton.  In August, 2006, a year after a center was opened at Camp Lejeune, the Wounded Warrior Center was opened at Camp Pendleton to help our Marines make that difficult transition between hospital and home.  Scout Sniper Association Ambassador, Jim Gularte, regularly visits our Wounded Warriors at the center.

WE CONTINUE THE FIGHT

We continue our fight for Scout Sniper Association member, 23-year-old Sgt Eddie Ryan.  On April 23, 2005, while manning a rooftop position along with other members of his sniper platoon, a bullet pierced Eddie's brain.  It was quickly followed by a second shot that smashed into his jaw.

Facing a lifetime medical bill that could balloon into the millions, Veterans Affairs officials announced that care for this wounded Marine would be cut back.  The family is fighting back, and we are helping.
