Lee Marvin was born on February 19, 1924. He served with the Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific. Marvin was wounded at the battle of Saipan in 1944, for which he received a Purple Heart. A wreath was sent by the Peoples of the Northern Mariana Islands to Marvin's funeral at the Arlington National Cemetery in 1987. |
